Chick-fil-A Salutes Macy’s Expansion With Complimentary Milkshakes

  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chick-fil-A Salutes Macy’s Expansion With Complimentary Milkshakes for all Macy’s South Employees

ATLANTA (Sept. 7, 2006) – As the Macy’s brand prepares to grow – with more than 400 stores transitioning into the brand on Saturday, Sept. 9 – Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc. has prepared a congratulatory treat for all Macy’s South employees as a way to recognize the retailer’s growth and the expansion of the brand.

Beginning Saturday, Sept. 9, Chick-fil-A mall restaurants in all Macy’s South markets will provide coupons for free hand-spun Milkshakes to 30,000-plus Macy’s South employees in celebration of the department store’s expansion.

“We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate Macy’s expansion by rewarding their employees,” said Jay File, director of field marketing for Chick-fil-A. “Chick-fil-A got its start nearly 40 years ago as a strictly mall-based concept, and mall units continue to be a key contributor to our overall success.  We felt it was fitting to honor another great brand with great mall presence as they celebrate this momentous occasion.”

On September 9, Macy’s stores nationwide will celebrate the addition of more than 400 newly-branded Macy’s stores.  The event will be marked by numerous store grand-opening celebrations and observances.

“We appreciate the support from a fellow ‘all-American’ brand like Chick-fil-A, and we are honored to accept their gift of congratulations,” said Susan Hancock, DVP of Special Events & Promotions for Macy’s South Division. “Through our continued growth and expansion, Macy’s is excited to serve customers from coast to coast.”
