Magical Day of Giving Set for November 16
Columbus, Ohio (November 12, 2008) -- For shoppers who dream of finding bargains while avoiding the holiday rush, Eastland Mall´s 5th annual Magical Day of Giving will be held on Sunday, November 16th from 12-6 p.m.
Magical Day of Giving is a one-day-only opportunity for shoppers to receive special discounts from mall stores, register to win fabulous door prizes, enjoy special holiday entertainment and beat the rush of holiday shopping.
This year, Eastland Mall is proud to announce that Barbie from the new movie Barbie in A Christmas Carol will be LIVE at Magical Day of Giving. Barbie will perform three live stage shows at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm, each followed by a meet and greet where children can get Barbie’s autograph and have their photo taken with her, so be sure to bring a camera. Eastland Mall will also have 10 copies of her new DVD movie to give away. Girls ages 12 and under are encouraged to dress up like Barbie for this event, and if you do, your name will be entered into a special drawing for a copy of the movie.
Magical Day of Giving is a truly unique opportunity for shoppers to take advantage of an exclusive shopping experience. Shoppers can purchase a ticket from local non-profit groups or the Mall Management Office for $5 each with 100% of the proceeds benefiting local organizations. Ticketed shoppers will be privy to special discounts at mall stores, be entered to win door prizes, enjoy holiday entertainment and have the opportunity to see the 2008 debut of Santa Claus at his Winter Wonderland located near Hibbett Sports.
"Ticket sales are going very well and we are excited to announce the grand prizes to be given away," said Kristie Holmes, marketing director of Eastland Mall. "We will be giving away a $1000 and two $500 Eastland Mall Shopping Sprees. In addition, WNCI 97.9FM has donated a Jingle Ball Prize Package including two tickets to each Jingle Ball Concert, a limo ride and dinner gift card. Nearly $8000 worth of door prizes will be given away to ticket holders during Magical Day of Giving."
With all the money-saving opportunities going on, customers may forget that shopping is only one part of Magical Day of Giving. It´s also a holiday celebration, with a variety of entertainment and activities. Santa Claus will be making his first appearance of 2008 at the mall and children can have their photos taken with Santa by a professional photographer for a small fee. Shoppers can also experience the debut of The Blizzard -- a snow machine will recreate the experience of snowfall from the comfort of the indoors. Watch it snow over Santa’s Wonderland every half hour.
There will be multiple strolling entertainers including a stilt walker, juggler, balloon artist, carolers and Those Funny Little People. Customers can also enjoy the musical stylings of the Yuletide Band and children will delight when they see our live Toy Soldier. Fifth Third Bank will provide complimentary gift wrapping as well.
Eastland Mall will have a few discounts of their own. Magical Day of Giving is the perfect day to stock up on all of your holiday gift cards because Eastland Mall is paying the activation fees on your Mall Gift Card purchases for this one day only. In addition, if customers spend $200 at Eastland Mall retailers or on Eastland Mall Gift Cards, the mall will reward customers with a free $20 Mall Gift Card. Mall stores offering special one-day-only discounts include Aeropostale, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, Christopher & Banks, Foot Locker and more. The site is updated daily to reflect the newest prize and discount announcements, as well as all of the non-profit organizations that are selling tickets.
